Quick Pick: Robot Unicorn Attack(s)

 Robot Unicorn Attack
$2.99
Rating: 3.5/5

Robot Unicorn Attack Heavy Metal Edition
$0.99
Rating: 3.5/5

"ALWAYS, I WANNA BE WITH YOU, AND MAKE BELIEVE WITH YOU!"

That's from the song 'Always' by Erasure and by god, it may be the catchiest song I've ever heard. It's used in the game Robot Unicorn Attack, the most rainbow filled unicorn game ever made. It's also fantastically fun!
You control a robot unicorn that frolics between floating bits of land, trying not to fall to your death or crash into giant stars. You only have two controls: jump and boost. When you boost you zoom forward with a blast rainbows behind you. You can also destroy the stars while boosting.

Now, if rainbows and Erasure aren't manly enough for you, there's also a heavy metal edition that pumps up the nightmare factor of the game, literally. The first game is available online in flash form if you can't afford the price for the apps.

Special: Plants vs. Zombies Contest Winner!

And the winner of the Plants vs. Zombies contest is.... (Drum roll, please)

For his answer:
"I would first develop a mutated Venus flytrap That would be big enough to devour a person or zombie whole, then put it next to a Corpse Flower. The zombies would think its cool and go to the Venus Flytrap which then eats them."

Willow, if you already own this game on the iPhone or iPod Touch, we can work out another app for equal price.

Sale Items: Geometry Wars Touch

NOTE: This app is TEMPORARILY on sale. It may not still be $0.99 when you read this.
Geometry Wars Touch
$4.99 $0.99
Rating: 5/5
Remember when I recommend Critical Wave about 2 weeks ago? Remember how I said that Geometry Wars was only on the iPad and not the iPhone? Well... I was happily mistaken! Yes, the game IS actually on the iPhone. And man is it just amazing. It's got all the same amazing game modes and features that was in the Xbox Live Arcade version a few years ago. PLUS, a game mode that the XBLA version lacked, titans.

Oh, and if you're unfamiliar with the Geometry Wars series, this will explain it all to you...

Quick Pick: Bit.Trip Beat

BIT.TRIP BEAT

$4.99

Rating: 4/5

BIT.TRIP BEAT is one of those games that teleports you back to your days at the arcade, but at the same time, sends you to the future. It's a game that combines Pong and some sort of futuristic rhythm game. But that's just it, this is a futuristic rhythm game. I could say more, but I think a video would do it better justice.

My only criticism is it's price point of $4.99. A tad bit expensive, but it's still a great game.

Free Gem: RjDj

RjDj

FREE

Rating: 4.5/5

To say the experience of using RjDj is brain melting would be a vast understatement. RjDj is an app that uses the microphone in your iPhone or your headphones to create lush, vivid, and down right trippy soundscapes. It uses "scenes" that each have different effects, most of which cause me and all of my friends who have used the app to just say "HOLY ****!!!, WHAT THE **** WAS THAT!??!?!"

Check it out, it's free, and it'll make you lose your mind if you're exposed to it for too long.

ALSO, be sure to check out this contest, you could win a free copy of Plants vs. Zombies.
